A thermal battery is a primary reserve battery that is inert until activated electrically or inertially. Because of its
unique construction, ENSER thermal batteries require no maintenance and can have a useful shelf life of 25
years, or longer. Depending on battery design, activation typically occurs within a few hundred milli-seconds
after the electric squib or primer is commanded to fire. ENSER thermal batteries provide significantly higher
specific energy than conventional batteries, thereby offering the user improved performance in smaller, lighter
packages. ENSER thermal batteries are capable of withstanding extreme levels of shock, vibration, acceleration
and a wide range of ambient temperature conditions.
